The History of Viva Gallery
Birmingham-based design consultancy Whitehouse
Mainwaring visited the art students at QAC in September
2005. Inspired by each other's work they agreed to work
together on a website to promote and sell the artwork
created by QAC students.
Over a period of nine months the various
teams made up of students and Whitehouse Mainwaring
developed all aspects of the website including the name,
the logo, design and functions of the site, its layout
and all the copy. Not forgetting that the students created
the actual art to be sold.
The website will continue as individual
students come and go. It will provide a legacy of collaboration
and an inspiration to future generations of students.
Why Buy?
All the money raised from the sale of the
artwork is ploughed back into the college. This assists
individuals at QAC in providing much needed resources
for the students.
The excellent art on offer is both beautiful and inspiring,
which any collector would be proud to own. We hope that
viewing - and owning - such pieces will raise awareness
of students with visual and other impairments as well
as highlighting the fantastic work achieved at QAC and
other organisations.
